About this site

In 2008 the IATEFL conference at Exeter was the site for the first international English Language Teaching Pecha Kucha event. The event was organised by Lindsay Clandfield and quickly became the buzz of the conference. At the end of the event a challenge was issued to other conference organisers to do something similar to "spice up" their own conferences.

There are possibilities for Pecha Kucha also within ELT teaching and training, and materials for Pecha Kucha have since appeared. This site was set up to provide information about the Pecha Kucha phenomenon for teachers, trainers and conference organisers interested in trying it out.

Lindsay Clandfield is an English teacher, trainer and author from Canada. He is one of the main contributors to the resource site Onestopenglish (http://www.onestopenglish.com/) and his publications include Straightforward Course for adults (Macmillan), Dealing with Difficulties (DELTA publishing, with co-author Luke Prodromou) and The Language Teacher's Survival Handbook (It's magazines, with co-author Duncan Foord).

Lindsay Clandfield also has a blog about ELT, called Six Things. You can find it at www.sixthings.net
